Brúarskóli við Dalbraut

Inspired by the DVD The Wild Thing  The wild thing and the website of the National Trust 50 things we decided to do a survey among our students if and how often they have done the 50 items mentioned on the NT site. (results will be published later) Our philosophy is that only a deep love for nature will encourage our students in the end to choose a sustainable lifestyle. The 50 things to do in nature before you are 11 3/4 are fun outdoor activities. We started out doing as many as possible since the weather has become Spring like on Iceland. One of the things is flying a kite. To make one of recycled material is great fun and the video below will give you instructions how to make one. Besides flying our kites at the seaside near our school, we have been climbing trees, grilling marshmallows, making picknick cookies, hunted for little treasures following arrows to the beach, tried how cold the sea is barefoot. Until the summerholidays we intend to be outdoors as much as possible. Our students would like to go to the woods, building a den or putting up a tent, grillling sausages and maybe many things more. Stephen Jeppson is also a great inspiration. Check our his website and never stop playing as he suggests. Let's have fun! Grow bolder - never stop playing
