Brúarskóli við Dalbraut

Slowly we change old habits. From early october we began separate waste collection. We seperate organic, plastic, paper, chemical, metal and unrecycable waste. It seems we still throw away paper the most, though we reuse if possible and print both sides if we can.

Two of our teachers attended a conference 11th of October of The National Agency for Environmental Education. http://landvernd.is/graenfaninn We got lots of inspiration. We learned that half of all elementary schools in Iceland have achieved a Green Flag Policy. We intend to follow their lead and hope to work for a Green Flag during the Comenius project and beyond. We encouraged our headmaster to invite Landvernd to hold a lecture about the Green Flag project for the staff of Brúarskóli as a whole, this is scheduled in november. One of our teachers joined the environmental committee of Brúarskóli as a whole and hopes to inspire all staff for environmental education.
