Brúarskóli við Dalbraut

To make a record for our school  I'll blog as before with regular intervals about our group activities with our students. In August we started the new school year with picking berries and making jam. This time of year many Icelanders go up the mountains and heath to pick all kind of berries. Blueberries are favorite to most. Near our school there are shrubs with red and black currants and they suit us very well to have fun outdoors and make home made jam. Finding food outdoors, close to home is of course very sustainable. It would be nice to learn from our partners what food they find close to them and how they preserve it and use it. The shrubs we planted last year in our school garden gave a little harvest as well. So we decided to plant some more:)
