Brúarskóli við Dalbraut

24th and 25th October - visit London

In the end of October Magnús and I visited London. We were welcomed very warmly by staff and students of CCHS. We managed to visit three of the four sites of CCHS, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Collingham Family Center and St.Mary's Hospital. Collingham is very similar in size and field of work, Child and Youth Psychiatrics in which we work in our own school at Dalbraut on Iceland. It was very good to hear the presentations of all partners and get an impression of all involved in Big Green Footsteps. An impression of the visit: comenius visit CCHS.pptx and the wonderful art in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Chelsea and Westminster Community Hospital Art.pptx

The first day all partners held presentations about their work. We held an introduction for adults dalbraut-comenius intro.pdf and one for kids about our own school and kids in Iceland.Kids in Iceland.pdf

In the evening we went all for Italian food and had a chance to talk to many colleagues. The next day we learned two methods for teaching science at the Science Museum; News and Views and Mystery boxes. In the afternoon we made a boattrip on a solar energy boat in Hyde Park and visited the Punch Drunk theater. In the end we met at St. Mary's Hospital and exchanged folk-stories of each country. We told the story of Marbendill which we exchanged last year with CCHS in an E- twinning project. Several students of CCHS have been guessing at its content and might be surprised by the original story. marbendli no sound.pptx and the text merman.docx
