Brúarskóli við Dalbraut

This month we explored in depth how games are made. We watched a video of Ludo games Made to play  We cut this very informative documentary in episodes of 15 minutes. Afterwards we played our games or enjoyed jigsaw puzzles which became a hype. We hope the children got a feel for the creative process and handwork involved in making a game. In the documentary it is explained that someone invents a game, produces a prototype with an artist, involves a publisher, who make a contract with the producer. Than the printer takes the start and later the print-sheets are glued on cardboard, cut and all and cards and items, dice etc. are packed and distributed by many workers.

This process we reenacted with our own games. We continued drawing animals for our Time-line game and involved all departments of Brúarskóli to get a good number of playing cards. We discovered the very easy website to make a Go- Fish game in Holland. kwartet With the website we turned our original recycled kwartet into a real printed game in order to have a good prototype.

It has been our goal from the start to present our games and play with kids from Brúarskóli and other schools on the Children´s Culture Festival 21st-25th of April.  Children´s Culture Festival With the invitation to participate came the offer to apply for extra funds. We decided to give it a go and prepared an application.  And we got YES
