December 2014 - Christmas is coming

December we were working to prepare for Christmas. Christmas is very important to all Icelanders and we always like to offer our students a cosy time preparing presents and decorations. We used old overhead projecting sheets to make decorations for the windows and cut snowflakes from Christmas magazines. Our main project is always baking a Christmas village of gingerbread houses under supervision of Þórunn. She and the teens provided all of us with Christmas cookies. I am not sure if all recipes are green, but they are delicious. We heard the Christmas story in our annual visit to church in the neighborhood and replayed the Nativity Play for parents and staff of the hospital. Unfortunately we are not allowed to take pictures. After the play we danced around the Christmas tree and one of the Christmas lads visited with some goodies which were well received. Tomorrow afternoon our holidays start so we say: Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year!!! and thanks for all inspiration of the last.
